Feeling Uninspired? Here’s Where to Get Your Daily Pick Me Up

As businessmen, we usually have a good idea of what we need to do to achieve our goals. We set KPIs, we measure them and we make adjustments to carry us over the finish line.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve talked a lot about strategy and advice, so we thought it was about time to share some inspiration. After all, knowing what to do is one thing – and putting the hours in and getting it done is something entirely different.

And so without further ado, meet two thought leaders and bloggers who post often enough to keep you topped up with your daily inspiration. Let’s go.

Barry Feldman

Feldman is a man with a busy career. As well as being behind the helm of Feldman Creative, he has years of experience in the ad agency industry and has been a self-made man since branching out on his own in 1995 to form a copywriting and online marketing industry in the formative days of the internet. To put it into context, that was ten years before Facebook was launched.

The good thing about Feldman Creative is that it works with companies of all sizes, from international ad agencies to small start-ups and corporate marketing teams. These companies also span different product categories, which means that Feldman himself is an all-rounder who can bring his cross-sector experience to his regular blog posts.

Feldman doesn’t write a blog every day, but he doesn’t need to. The posts that he does share are enough to keep you going until the next one arrives, and his writing style is easy to absorb and a lot of fun. That’s partly because he’s also been known to write children’s books, songs and movies, so he’s used to entertaining – as well as inspiring.

Jeffrey L. Cohen

Jeffrey L. Cohen wears a lot of different hats. He’s an award-winning marketer and strategist, the director of strategy at Pace Communications, the co-founder and managing editor of SocialMediaB2B.com and the former co-host of the ContentPros podcast.

Those are all great qualifications, but Cohen stands out because of his 25-year career in B2B marketing and the fact that he’s the co-author of The B2B Social Media Book. He even developed an undergraduate curriculum in social media marketing and taught full-time at Ball State University, all of which show that he’s used to teaching and imparting information.

All of Cohen’s content and social media marketing lessons are fantastic resources, but the real value comes from his Daily Thoughts. They’re simple, bite-sized and easy to swallow, and they’re just the thing to bring a little inspiration when it’s raining outside and you’re working late. At the time of writing, his most recent musings have been on the challenges of running the same blog for twelve years – such as using little styling and imagery to pre-empt broken links during the next CMS change.
