Listen Up: Resources to Listen to on the Commute

Every B2B marketer knows that there just aren’t enough hours in the day. As well as working a demanding 9-5 job, they’re also expected to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and studies. The result is a culture in which we’re always on the go – and where we’re expected to keep learning at every opportunity.

People learn in different ways. Some prefer to pick things up through hands-on experience, some learn by reading articles and some learn by listening to podcasts and watching webinars. This blog post is for the latter group.

Owner Media Group is the brainchild of Chris Brogan and Rob Hatch, and the interesting thing is that while it is a commercial venture, it doesn’t feel like it. Brogan, who’s a best-selling author and industry thought-leader, explains: “My #1 piece of advice is “be helpful.” And everything I build for you is meant to help you win.”

With a promise like that, it’s hard not to get excited about their resources. They have paid plans for people who want to access everything, but there’s plenty of free stuff to enjoy too. You can scoop their OwnerFUEL newsletter to receive insights by Chris Brogan and Rob Hatch, but it’s The Owner’s Mind that you’ll really want to look out for.

That’s because it’s an online radio show that’s hosted by Chris and which welcomes regular guests to discuss business growth strategies. And if that’s not enough, they also have a number of online courses and webinars that you can have on in the background when you’re driving to work or doing cardio at the gym.

Find and Convert

Not to be confused with Jay Baer’s Convince & Convert, Find and Convert is under the leadership of founder and CEO Bernie Borges. They’re essentially a B2B agency that specialises in “software, professional services and other industries with complex offerings.” That means that they’re able to talk from experience, as you’ll see if you consume their content.

They have a blog which they regularly update, but it’s their audio content that really shines. They post regular podcasts and host the occasional webinar, and it’s particularly worth looking out for series like their five-part podcast on up-close lead generation, which features Bernie Borges and Guillaume Decugis, the CEO of Scoop.it.

Better still, they augment much of their audio content with downloadable resources, so you can listen to the podcast on your way to work and check out the accompanying materials on your lunch break. They appreciate that different people learn in different ways and do their best to cater to that, and if all else fails then you can always call them in as an agency. It’s win/win.
